A four – year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.) after 10+2 also makes the students eligible for appointment as elementary school teacher. The programme is designed to integrate the study of subject knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and communication skills.

Delhi University B.El.Ed Admission 2018 – The Central Institute of Education (CIE) will conduct entrance test for B.EI.E.d. admission in Delhi University. The DU B.El.Ed admissions 2018 has started and all the interested women candidates can apply for it.

DU B.EI.Ed. Admission 2019

  • The B.El.Ed.(Bachelor of Elementary Education) – A Four-Year Integrated Professional Degree Program of Elementary Teacher Education(Offered in Eight Women Colleges of University of Delhi)
  • The B.El.Ed Program is a 4-year Integrated Professional Degree Program of Elementary Teacher Education offered after the Senior Secondary (Class XII) Stage of School
  • This is a bilingual Program, conceptualized by the Maulana Azad Centre for Elementary and Social Education (MACESE) of the Dept. O Education, University of Delhi
  • El.Ed is designed to integrate the study of subject knowledge, human development, and pedagogical knowledge and communication skills.

Program of Study

  • Foundation Course; Core Course; Pedagogy Course; Optional Liberal Course; Optional Pedagogy; Optional Course; Practicum; School Contact Program; School Internship
  • In the course nomenclature, the numeral immediately following letters (F, C, P. etc) denotes the Year of the programme in which the course is to be taught
  • The second numeral denotes the serial number in a particular course type
  • For instance, F2.5 signifies that Human Relations and Communications is the 5thFoundation Course to be taught in the II Year of the Program of study

Important Dates (Tentative)

  • Start of Online Application Form: 15th May 2018
  • Closing Date for Online Examination: 07th June 2018
  • Date for conduct of Entrance Exam: 19th June 2018
  • Announcement of Result: 03rd week of July 2018
  • Commencement of Classes: 20th July 2018
  • Closing Date of Admission: 16th August 2018

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) Program must have passed the Class XII Exam of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other Board recognised as equivalent to the CBSE
  • All candidates are required to select four subjects in the following manner:
  • One from List A and three from List B or;
  • One from List A, two from List B and one from List C

Age Criteria

You should have completed 17. There is no age relaxation. (A) Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) programme must have passed* the Class XII examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other Board recognised as equivalent to the CBSE.

Application Fee criteria

  • Application fee for General/OBC candidates:500/-
  • Application fee for SC/ST/PWD candidates:250/-

List A:

  • English and Hindi

List B:

  • 1): Any one language (other than that chosen in List A, offered by CBSE, or its equivalent board at 10+ 2 level)
  • 2): Biology; Physics; Chemistry; Mathematics; Economics; History; Political Science; Geography; Sociology; Philosophy; Psychology; Business Studies or Accountancy

List of C:

  • Any other subject (other than that mentioned in List A and B) in class XII offered by CBSE or its equivalent Board

Reservation

  • General candidates require at least 50% marks in each of the four subjects (chosen from List A – C) and aggregate of minimum 55% in the same four subjects; OBC candidates will have a relaxation of 10%
  • They will require 45% (10% relaxation of 50%) in each of the four subjects chosen and an aggregate of 49.5% (10% relaxation of 55%) in the same four subjects
  • SC/ST Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (XIIth standard), i.e. of CBSE or any other Board recognized as equivalent to the CBSE
  • Christian Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (XIIth standard), i.e. of CBSE or any other Board recognized as equivalent to the CBSE
  • PwD candidates will have a relaxation of 5% in the class XIIth Exam
  • They will require 47.5% (5% relaxation of 50%) in each of the four subjects chosen and an aggregate of 52.25% (5% relaxation of 55%) in the same four subjects
  • C/WAP candidates will have a relaxation of 5% in the class XIIth Exam
  • They will require 47.5% (5% relaxation of 50%) in each of the four subjects chosen and an aggregate of 52.25% (5% relaxation of 55%) in the same four subjects

Selection Procedure

  • Selection procedure for B.El.Ed admission is based on an online written entrance test. The entrance test is of 2-hour duration
  • The question paper is of multiple choice question (MCQ) format. It consists of 100questions. Each question carries 4 marks, so the maximum marks would be 400. For each correct answer4 marks would be awarded
  • There is negative marking. For each wrong answer 1 mark would be deducted. There are four options for every question i.e. a, b, c, d. Numbering of questions is from 1 to100. There is no descriptive question. The question paper is bilingual (English and Hindi)
  • All admissions to the B.El.Ed. Program will be done on the basis of the Scheme of the CEE. The Merit List will be prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in the Entrance Test
  • Separate merit lists will be prepared for the respective categories i.e. general category and reserved categories as per the norms of the University of Delhi

  • Subject Knowledge (Mathematics up to Class X) Multiple Choice English or Hindi – 20
  • Subject Knowledge(Science up to Class X)Multiple Choice English or Hindi – 20
  • Subject Knowledge(Social Sciences up to Class X)Multiple Choice English or Hindi – 20

  • All questions are compulsory
  • Only women candidates are eligible to apply for the course
