WHAT IS SBI PO ?
The State Bank Of India is the country’s oldest Bank and a premier in terms of balance sheet size, number of branches, market capitalization and profit. Earlier known as Imperial Bank of India, it got its current name in 1955 after nationalization by the Government of India. The SBI provides wide range of banking products through its vast network of branches in India and overseas, including products aimed at non-residents Indians(NRIs). The SBI from time to time invites application from eligible Indian Citizens for the appointment of Probationary Officers in State Bank of India.
SBI PO Eligibility details:
Nationality:Candidate should be citizen of India.
Age: SBI PO Eligibility regarding age should be between 21 and 30 years. The relaxation in the upper age limit is cumulative as per government of India guidelines.
Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised College / University.
SBI PO Selection Process details:
SBI PO Selection Process is of two ways as
1.Written test 2.Group Discussion and Interview.
1. Written test:
This test is of 2 papers as
a. Objective paper:
This paper consists of 4 sections such as
1. Test of English Language.
2. Test of General Awareness.
3. Test of data analysis and interpretation.
4. Test of Reasoning.
This paper is of comprehension, short précis, letter writing and essay.
2. Group discussion and Interview:
Candidate who have qualified in the written examination will be called for group discussion and interview depending up on the vacancies in each category, subject to maximum of 3 times of the vacancies.
The candidate will have to pass both in 1.written test and 2.Group Discussion and Interview separately, will be aggregated and arranged in descending order (category wise) for candidates who have qualified in both the phases separately and depending on the vacancies, selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.
SBI PO Exam Pattern details:
SBI PO Exam Pattern is of two ways as
1.Written test and 2.Group Discussion and Interview.
Phase- I : Written Examination —
Combined Duration 3 Hrs. (Combined Objective & Descriptive Type Tests) –
[Max marks-250 (combined)]
The duration of objective type test will be 2 hours, Max. marks 200 and will consist of :
i) Test of English Language (Grammer, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
ii) Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
iii)Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
iv) Test of Reasoning (High Level)
The duration of Descriptive type test will be 1 hour, Max. marks-50 and the test will be of “Test of English Language (Comprehension, short precis, letter writing & essay)”
2. Group discussion and Interview:
Max Marks – 50. [GD – 20 Interview – 30] – Candidate who has qualified in the written examination will be called for group discussion and interview depending up on the vacancies in each category, subject to maximum of 3 times of the vacancies.
